First 5 Alameda County Commission |
With money from California’s Proposition 10 tobacco tax we pay for Every Child Counts, a program that supports health, development and well-being of our youngest children through their first five years. A nine member volunteer Commission oversees First 5 Alameda County. Commissioners are selected and appointed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors based upon their expertise in early care and education, health care, social services and children with special needs. The full Commission meets seven times a year.
